Free QR Code Generator

Static codes that never expire · made on your device

The QR code is generated in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.

How to make a QR code

  1. Choose the type: URL, plain text, Wi-Fi or phone.
  2. Type or paste your content; the code updates instantly.
  3. Pick an error-correction level and a dark colour if you like.
  4. Download it as PNG (for screens and print) or SVG (sharp at any size, ideal for printers and designers).

Static codes never expire

Many “free” QR sites create dynamic codes that redirect through their servers and stop working when a trial ends. This page makes static codes: your link or text is stored inside the pattern itself, so the code works forever, has no scan limit and cannot be tracked by us. The trade-off is that you cannot change the destination after printing, so test it with your phone camera first.

Error-correction levels

LevelRecovers aboutBest for
L7%Screens, long links
M15%General use (default)
Q25%Printed labels
H30%Rough surfaces, outdoor signs

Higher levels make the code denser, so long text may need a larger print size.

Wi-Fi QR codes

The Wi-Fi option uses the standard WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;; format that Android and iPhone cameras understand. Guests scan once and join, without typing your password. Special characters such as ; and : are escaped automatically.

Printing tips

Keep strong contrast (dark code on a light background), leave the white quiet zone around the edges, and print at least 2 × 2 cm for close scanning. For posters, a rule of thumb is that the code should be about one tenth of the scanning distance.

FAQ

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes. There are no accounts, watermarks, scan limits or expiry dates. The codes are generated in your browser.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes with the content stored in the pattern, so they keep working as long as the link or text is valid.

How do I make a QR code for Wi-Fi?

Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name, password and security type, then download. Phones can join the network by scanning it.

PNG or SVG — which should I download?

PNG suits documents and screens. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which is best for professional printing.

Can I change the link after printing?

Not with a static code. Make a new code if the link changes, or point the code to a page you control.
